Men's Interclub

Interclub is match-play golf format, played between members of twelve-person teams from Edmonton and surrounding golf clubs. The golf clubs must be members of the EGA.

The objectives of the Men's Interclub program are to promote friendly relationships and competition between clubs via match play.

Rules & Regulations

Interclub Team

A twelve-member team is selected by each club to participate in Interclub matches.

All interclub team members must be members of the participating club. Each club can substitute any player from a list of alternates. Each alternate must also be a member of the participating club.

Any players that are not in good standing with the Edmonton Golf Association will not be eligible for play. If any matches are played with a member not in good standing, the team points will be disqualified.

All Team Members are responsible for any green fees or reciprocal green fees which may apply. Members who have season passes or club memberships that include yearly green fees qualify for reciprocal green fees. Interclub Team Members who would normally pay green fees will be responsible for the green fees for any matches played. The green fees are payable to your local member clubs. This will qualify as a reciprocal green fee.

For 2011, participating golf courses will not be offering free cart or food and beverage service, unless both golf courses agree to offer these services free of charge to Interclub members.

A qualifying participant may only play for one Interclub team per golf season. Failure to comply will result in all points won by that player being deducted from the team totals.

Team Format

Three matches consisting of a two-man team best ball match play. Three points will be allocated to each match, one point for the front nine, one point for the back nine and one point for the 18-hole match.

Following the matches, a luncheon is provided by the Host Club for the team competitors. Each Host must co-ordinate a lunch menu to make sure the Host Clubs provide a similar experience.
